Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT is a modern, evidence-based therapy that helps people build a more meaningful and fulfilling life—even in the presence of difficult thoughts, feelings, or experiences. Rather than trying to eliminate discomfort, ACT focuses on changing how we relate to it.

ACT supports people to develop psychological flexibility—the ability to stay present, open, and engaged in life, even when things feel challenging. Through ACT, you’ll learn to:

  • Accept difficult emotions without judgment
  • Defuse from unhelpful thoughts
  • Reconnect with your values
  • Take committed action toward the life you want to lead

ACT is helpful for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic pain, and stress. It is especially useful when people feel stuck or disconnected from what matters most to them.

In therapy, we’ll explore the habits of mind that may be holding you back and gently shift toward greater clarity, purpose, and resilience. ACT is not about fixing you—it’s about helping you show up more fully for the life you want.
