Psychometric Testing for

Children and Adolescents

Sydney Psychology Group provides comprehensive psychometric assessments for children and adolescents to help understand their cognitive strengths, learning profiles, behavioral patterns, and adaptive functioning. These assessments are invaluable in identifying conditions such as learning disorders, ADHD, and other developmental or behavioral challenges.

We use a range of gold-standard tools tailored to each child’s needs:

The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children – Fifth Edition (WISC- V) assesses cognitive abilities such as reasoning, memory, and processing speed.

The Wechsler Individual Achievement Test – Fourth Edition (WIAT- 4) measures academic achievement in key areas including reading, written expression, and mathematics.

The Conners 4 is a behavioral rating scale used to evaluate attention, hyperactivity, executive functioning, and emotional regulation, supporting diagnoses such as ADHD.

The Adaptive Behavior Assessment System – Third Edition (ABAS- 3) evaluates everyday functional skills across home, school, and community settings, providing insight into a child’s ability to cope with real-world demands.

Each assessment includes a thorough clinical interview, standardised testing, and collaboration with parents and schools where appropriate. A detailed report and feedback session are provided to support informed decisions and tailored recommendations for intervention, support, and educational planning.
